Insecticide and pest control products framed the .raid application in ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. It belonged to an eight-string portfolio covering a consumer goods group's corporate name and several individual product brands, filed on the reasoning that shoppers recognize the product on the shelf rather than the manufacturer behind it.

ICANN accepted termination of the whole portfolio in January 2022, retiring the group's brand extensions together. The string is also an ordinary English noun and verb, and the standard acronym for a redundant array of storage disks — two substantial independent meanings now foreclosed alongside the brand one. It cannot be registered or acquired by any party.
