Wagering, sports betting, and gaming sit behind .tab, a three-letter restricted extension from ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. Regulated gambling operators face a compliance-driven namespace case: customers must be able to identify a licensed operator, while unlicensed sites routinely present themselves through domains imitating established betting brands.

Use covers wagering and racing content, account destinations, venue and retail resources, and campaign sites. Registration is closed to the public and the extension carries no aftermarket. The string is also an ordinary English noun with wide independent demand — browser tabs, bar tabs, document tabs — making it one of the more heavily loaded three-character strings in the round.
