.ses Domain

Satellite communications and broadcast distribution framed the .ses application in ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. Satellite operators supply the transmission layer for broadcasters and telecoms rather than serving consumers directly, which makes their namespace case one of infrastructure verification: technical parameters and service documentation are referenced by engineers configuring ground stations and uplinks.

Three-letter strings were the round's scarcest asset and were pursued largely independently of sector. This one carries a substantial independent recognition load across several unrelated organizations and technical terms. The extension is not currently active in the DNS root zone and is not available for registration by any party.
