.firmdale Domain Information
Boutique hotels sit behind .firmdale, a restricted extension from ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. Independent hotel groups face a booking-integrity problem that large chains partly escape: reservations arrive through a mix of direct bookings and third-party channels, and unauthorised booking sites presenting themselves as the official property page capture deposits and guest data while the hotel absorbs the complaint.
Use covers individual property destinations, reservation resources, restaurant and event content, and group information. Registration is closed to the public and the extension has no aftermarket. Hospitality was a light participant in the round relative to how heavily the sector is impersonated, making the few hotel strings that were filed worth noting.
