珠宝 means jewellery, a descriptive category term applied for in ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program as a two-character Chinese namespace. It belongs to the round's closed-generic debate in a different language: a word describing an entire industry, sought by a single applicant, with every jeweller and retailer in the Chinese-speaking world using the same term.

Descriptive CJK strings attracted markedly less objection than English equivalents during the round, largely because the objection process drew participants who read English. The extension is not currently active in the DNS root zone and is not available for registration by any party.
