.scor Domain Information

Country flagLogo for .scor Domain

Reinsurance and risk transfer framed the .scor application in ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. Reinsurers occupy a distinctive position in financial services: their counterparties are other insurers rather than consumers, and treaty negotiations and claims settlements move very large sums between a small number of institutions by email.

That concentration makes counterparty impersonation unusually valuable per attempt, even though the total attack surface is small. The four-letter string is also close to an ordinary English word, a collision characteristic of short coined marks. The extension is not currently active in the DNS root zone and is not available for registration by any party.
