About .robot

The .robot domain extension is named for programmable machines and software-controlled systems that carry out tasks on their own or with little help. It suits anyone working in robotics, automation, artificial intelligence, research or education.

Many sites under this name will belong to robot makers, developers, universities, schools, laboratories and automation providers. Competitions, publishers, educators and hobbyists can also use it to share projects, products and news about machines and the people who build them.

If you run a fleet, a drone or autonomous vehicle service, or a robots-as-a-service platform, this name gives each machine a dedicated address. As a top-level domain built around robotics, it can publish who is responsible for a robot and what it is allowed to do, so partners and customers can check.
