.redstone Domain Information
The .redstone string was applied for in ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program as a compound of two ordinary English words — a construction used throughout the round to build a distinctive, registrable string from common terms that would each be hopelessly contested on their own.
Compound strings of this kind clear evaluation more easily than a bare dictionary word and face less contention, but they carry only the combined connotations of their parts rather than independent search demand. The string also has substantial independent recognition as a place name, a surname, and a material. The extension is not currently active in the DNS root zone and is not available for registration by any party.
