About .official

The .official domain extension points to a name that marks a primary or authentic home for a person, brand or organization. This top-level domain suits anyone who wants to be seen as the real source of their products, services or content.

Visitors see right away that the site claims to be the main presence for that name. This mirrors the habit of adding "official" to a social media handle so fans can tell the real account from fan pages or parody accounts. You can use it the same way for your own name.

Many sites under this name belong to brand owners, trademark holders, schools, nonprofits and professional associations. Sports teams, leagues, fan clubs and news outlets also fit. Creators and influencers can use it as a personal branding address when common names are already taken.
