.nissan Domain

Passenger vehicles, commercial vans, and electric drivetrains sit behind .nissan, a restricted extension from ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. High-volume marques had the strongest version of the automotive consolidation argument: dealer networks running to thousands of outlets generate enormous quantities of locally targeted domains, leaving buyers no reliable way to tell an authorised dealer from an unaffiliated lead-generation site.

Use covers model and configurator content, dealer and aftersales destinations, electric vehicle resources, and country sites. Registration is closed to the public and the extension carries no aftermarket. It was filed alongside .datsun and .infiniti by the same group, giving separate namespaces to the mainstream, emerging-market, and premium marques.
