.natura Domain Information

Country flagLogo for .natura Domain

Cosmetics and personal care products framed the .natura application in ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. The string is a Latin noun, immediately legible across Romance languages as meaning nature — which gave the application both a descriptive quality and a strong fit with a brand built on natural and sustainably sourced ingredients.

Latin and Romance-root strings occupy useful middle ground in the round: internationally comprehensible without translation, but close enough to ordinary vocabulary to raise the generic question. Brazilian participation was the largest in Latin America, spanning banking, media, energy, and consumer goods. The extension is not currently active in the DNS root zone and is not available for registration by any party.
