.mtr Domain Information

Country flagLogo for .mtr Domain

Urban rail, transport operations, and property development sit behind .mtr, a three-letter restricted extension from ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. Transport operators serve populations at daily scale, where service updates, fare information, and ticketing are consulted constantly and often urgently — conditions under which a fraudulent fare or refund page finds willing clicks.

Use covers network and service information, ticketing and fare destinations, property and retail content, and corporate resources. Registration is closed to the public and the extension carries no aftermarket. Public transport applicants were rare in the round, which makes this one a useful reference for infrastructure operators weighing a namespace.
