.infosys Domain

Information technology consulting, outsourcing, and systems integration framed the .infosys application in ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. IT services firms brought an authentication rationale shared with other professional services: client engagements run on email carrying project documentation, access credentials, and invoicing, making the sector a standing target for business email compromise built on near-identical domains.

Indian participation in the round was modest relative to the market's scale, and the technology services sector accounted for a meaningful share of what was filed. This string was submitted alongside the shorter .infy, following the round's common practice of securing both a full name and the abbreviation counterparties actually use. The extension is not currently active in the DNS root zone and is not available for registration.
