.hughes Domain Information
Satellite communications and broadband services sit behind .hughes, a restricted extension from ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. Satellite broadband serves customers in areas without terrestrial infrastructure, often reached through dealer and installer networks rather than direct sales — the structural condition that makes an owned extension useful, since customers need to distinguish an authorised installer from an unaffiliated reseller.
Use covers service and equipment content, subscriber destinations, enterprise and government solutions, and dealer resources. Registration is closed to the public and the extension carries no aftermarket. The string is also a common surname, giving it independent recognition well outside the sector.
