.heart Domain Information
The .heart string is an everyday English noun with unusually wide reach — anatomical, emotional, and symbolic — applied for in ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. Words of this kind were the most heavily contested non-brand strings in the round, since they carry immediate meaning across cardiac health, charitable causes, dating services, and consumer goods alike.
That breadth is a double-edged property: it makes a string valuable to many applicants and therefore expensive to secure, while making it hard for any single operator to define. The extension is not currently active in the DNS root zone and is not available for registration by any party.
