.dtv Domain Information
Satellite and streaming television services sit behind .dtv, a three-letter restricted extension from ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. Broadcast and pay-TV applicants faced two overlapping problems a closed namespace addresses: unauthorised streaming distributed through domains that imitate official addresses, and subscriber account and billing pages impersonated for credential theft.
Use covers programming and package content, subscriber services, equipment resources, and campaign destinations. Registration is closed to the public and the extension carries no aftermarket. Three-letter strings were the scarcest class of asset in the round, and in broadcasting they carry practical value in on-screen and advertising contexts where an address must be readable and memorable at a distance.
