.cashbackbonus Domain

Card rewards and cashback programs frame the .cashbackbonus application from ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. It is an example of a program-level string rather than a corporate one: applicants occasionally sought extensions matching a named customer benefit, on the reasoning that a rewards scheme has its own recognition and its own fraud exposure, since fake rewards-redemption pages are among the more effective phishing pretexts in consumer finance.

The application did not proceed to delegation. No registry agreement was ever signed, so the extension has never existed in the DNS root zone — program-name strings were among the least durable proposals in the round. Strings in this position cannot be registered, and returning one to consideration would require a new ICANN application round.
