Management consulting and corporate strategy advisory define .bcg, a three-letter closed extension from ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program. Professional services applicants shared a consistent rationale: engagements run on email carrying confidential analysis and payment instructions, making the sector a standing target for business email compromise built on domains one character removed from the genuine one.

A restricted namespace gives recipients a reliable structural check. Use covers research and insight publications, industry and practice content, recruitment destinations, and regional sites. No third party can obtain a .bcg domain and the extension has no resale value. Short strings of this kind were among the scarcest assets in the round, which added a defensive dimension to the application.
