.adac Domain

The .adac domain extension was applied for in ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program as a restricted namespace for motoring club services, covering roadside assistance, travel, and member benefits. Membership organizations in the automotive sector had a specific incentive to apply: members are frequently targeted by breakdown, insurance, and travel-booking scams that depend on domains closely resembling the genuine one, and a closed extension eliminates that registration route entirely.

Its registry agreement dates from July 2015 and carried two designations: Specification 12, the community provision available from the original 2013 base agreement, and Specification 13, the .brand designation added in 2014. That pairing is uncommon and reflects a membership organization operating as a brand. The agreement was terminated in December 2022, after more than seven years. The string is not registrable and does not appear on any secondary market.
