Site builders serve very large numbers of small customers whose account credentials control their entire web presence, which makes provider login pages a high-value target — a compromised account takes the customer's site and email together.

It was filed alongside .vista and .vistaprint by the same group. The string is also an ordinary English plural noun with independent demand from biology and textiles. The extension is not currently active in the DNS root zone and is not available for registration by any party.
