.room Domain

The .room extension is one of the round's closed generics: an ordinary English noun delegated on a restricted basis through ICANN's 2012 New gTLD Program rather than opened for registration. The word has obvious constituencies in accommodation, property, coworking, and events — any business whose product is a physical space.

There is no registration channel, pricing, or aftermarket for .room domains. Short, concrete nouns were the most sought-after non-brand strings in the program precisely because they need no explanation and form natural phrases when read across the dot, which is also why so few of them reached open registries.
