Illegal App Stores Closed
Three domains were seized by the FBI that were involved in selling copy right infringement Android applications. The three sites, applanet.net, appbucket.net and snappzmarket.com, were seized in conjunction with French and Dutch authorities. Currently when users visit the websites a seizure banner is visible. The hopes with these shut downs is that people will start to understand that copyright laws apply to cellphone applications as well, not just illegal downloading of music and movies. This is still stealing intellectual knowledge from software developers and the United States law enforcement community can no longer turn a blind eye to this type of theft.
