Verisign confirms .gov down

Verisign released reports this morning confirming that top-level domain sites .gov went down because of a DNSSEC problem related to a new algorithm. Upon the discovery of the problem the company did everything to solve the problem quickly and recover the networks. The change of the cryptographic algorithm caused the problems which is a rare event. Under the ICANN rules all the new top level domains are mandatory to have DNSSEC. To read further click here
