Telnic Announces Release of All-Numeric .TEL Domains with 8+ Digits

Telnic has announced that it will be releasing all-numeric .tel domain strings of eight (8) digits and above on 15th October 2013.

As a result, string combinations such as or will become available to register. There are no restrictions above and beyond their existing AUP policies on Registrants wishing to register these strings.

This launch will consist of one phase only: General Availability – >From 3 p.m. BST on Tuesday 15th October 2013, all new long (eight digit or above) numeric-only .tel strings will become available at the regular registration price.

Please Note that the following strings will continue to remain unavailable for registration:

Numeric-only domains

  • All single-digit (from through to domains

Short Domains

  • All one-letter (from through to domains
  • All two-character country code top level domains (ccTLDs, such as for example)

IDN Restrictions

  • All combinations of digits and/or digit and hyphen strings that contain a hyphen in the third and fourth position
