Kroes says no need
EU digital communications chief Neelie Kroes says, that she believes there is a need for more government involvement for the Internet, but opposes handing over control to the International Telecommunications Agency from the UN. The current structure does give the ITU some control over the Internet for example promoting IPV6, but in no way has any real control. The governments vying for a new structure, Russia and China, are trying to give complete control to the UN. Kores says some restructuring is possible with the current model and that she wouldn’t get rid of the current one.To read further click here.
