ICANN Scrutiny Continues
Although all the scrutiny of ICANN did almost nothing to thwart the release of the new gTLD program, except for the world keeping a closer eye on the new developments. ANA is worried that introducing thousands of new domain names will force trademark and brand owners to spend a fortune trying to watchdog their own domain names. They also warn that phishing and cyber squatting could increase with the new domains, making business not a safe aspect of the internet.
