.FR Domains Laws

French Domain law has been rather rocky over the last few years, even to the point that in October 2011 French Constitutional Court held the Electronic Communications Code as well has corresponding statutory instrument as unconstitutional. In response, French Parliament released a new Act concerning management of domain names under the .FR Extension. The new laws will take into effect June 30,2011. Majority of the new laws are regulatory provisions amending the allocation of domain names.  For example in result of the new legislations, anyone as long as they can prove their good faith can apply for .FR domain, however terms of crimes, rude, or illegal activities have be explicitly banned.  To read further please click here.
