Facebook takes legal action
Facebook has filed a lawsuit against several companies who have purchased domain names similar to theirs accusing them of trademark infringement. To be exact Facebook filed against 25 different companies. Facebook is targeting companies who have purchased websites that are names that are typos of Facebook.com such as facebobk.com, facemook.com, wwwfacefook.com, ffacebook.com and faecbook.com.. These owners are often called “typosquatters” and their scheme is to try and win their case in court by trying to diminish the good reputation of Facebook. In 2007 Facebook had won similar types of cases that dealt with the same types of companies doing typo squatting. For further information please click here.
