ICANN has approved a system that will determine which applications have the highest priority. The so called digital archery method has been approved at a special board meeting that took place at the ICANN Costa Rica Conference. Each registrant must select a future time “target” and the groups of applicants will then be based off of time and then put into groups of 500. ICANN plans on having between 1000 to 1500 applications. The ability to “hit” the target will determine whether your application will be handles first second or third in the batches. This method has given ICANN harsh criticism and companies feel that this system is not fair. However, this seems the most anonymous and unbiased. To read further click here.
