.NL Domain General FAQ Netherlands FAQ - Is it possible to get a list of all registered .nl domain names?
- The Netherlands Registry cannot provide you with a list of all registered .nl domain names. Partly for privacy reasons, there is no unrestricted use of the database.
- I represent a Belgian firm. We want to register a domain name with the .nl extension. Is that OK?
- Yes, this is possible. Since 29th January 2003 there are no longer geographical barriers for registering a '.nl' domain name.
- I would like to register several .nl domain names. Is that OK?
- Yes, this is possible.
- Why has the Registry placed certain .nl domain names on the list of reserved domain names?
- The Registry is entitled to exclude certain.nl domain names from registration.
The list of reserved domain names is limitative and contains domain names that are a priori excluded from registration due to their special (technical) nature. Consequently, the domain name in question does not belong to any party. - What might cause my registration application to be rejected?
- An Application for Registration will not be considered any further should any of the following circumstances apply:
(a) an identical Domain Name or Personal Domain Name is already included in the Register or an Application for the Registration of such Name is already being considered;
(b) the Domain Name or Personal Domain Name is a name that SIDN has excluded from registration or a name that SIDN has withdrawn from the registration process, either permanently or temporarily;
(c) one or more of the details reported in the Application for Registration is incorrect or incomplete;
(d) the Domain Name or Personal Domain Name does not comply with the Technical Requirements and still fails to do so within a period set by SIDN.
