- A Domain Name is your address on the Internet. It is your unique identity on the Internet that corresponds to your numeric address "IP." Or in simple terms, a domain name is the part of your Internet address that comes after "www".
- What does .LV stand for?
- The two-letter abbreviation, .LV, is a unified standard system agreed upon to identify and reserve domain names specified for Latvia.
- How can I find information about a current domain name holder if they have a domain name that I am interested in?
- Please use our search feature or another valid whois application. Please note that personal data are excluded from the whois results.
- What is the difference between Zone Delegation and Individual host and/or Mail exchanger registration?
- To establish a zone for your domain name you have to have 2 different domain name servers, that is - servers that support your domain name records and are able to transfer them to any other domain name server on the Internet. If you have server which supports homepage or e-mail services with your new domain name you should choose second option in the registration form - Individual host and/or Mail exchanger registration where you would indicate the name for your homepage or mail server.
- Can I register a domain name without knowing the technical information?
- You can register a .LV domain name also without knowing where you will host it. In such case do not provide technical information. Your domain will be registered to point to special homepage for inactive domains. You will have a possibility to provide technical information later.
- How do I change a contact person or technical information for a registered domain name?
- You can change contact persons, DNS servers or IP addresses for your domain name by sending us an e-mail from the e-mail address of the current domain name contact person, or you can use On-line system to make all necessary updates.
