A Chinese Domain Name must contain at least one or more Chinese characters and may contain one or more uppercase or lowercase English letters, numbers or hypens. Hyphens cannot exist at the beginning and end of the domain and not in the third and fourth character positions. The domain shall not be more than 15 Chinese characters, letters or numbers in total length excluding the .hk extension. For English characters and letters, the minimum number of characters is 2 and the maximum number is 63.
Can all of the Chinese Characters used in the computer system be registered as .hk Chinese Domain Names?
No. However most of the Chinese Characters that can be used in the computer system can be registered as .hk Chinese Domain Names. Some Hong Kong Characters may not be available for .hk domain name registration. The availability of domain name for registration is based on the Chinese Domain Name Variant Table (combination of CD and TW Language Tables).
