- Except .idv.hk which is designated for Individuals aged 11 or above with HKID cards, other 3rd level .hk domain names are designed for Hong Kong organizations. For overseas entities, please consider register Second-Level '.hk' domain name which accept applications from organizations and individuals from both local and overseas.
- I am an individual and do not have a company. Can I register a domain name?
- Yes. Starting from 21 Feb 2003, any Hong Kong Identity Card Holder aged 11 or above may apply for an individual domain name (.idv.hk). For individuals from overseas, please consider registering Second-Level '.hk' domain name, which accept applications of organizations and individuals from both local and overseas.
- Can I register more than one .hk domain name?
- All registrants whose domain names are under or being upgraded to the latest HKDNR Registration Agreement are eligible to apply for multiple domain names. For customers whose domain names are under Old Agreement, they can only register for only one .hk domain name.
- What documentary proof is required to register a second-level ".hk" domain name?
- Generally speaking, no documentary proof is required to register a Second- Level '.hk' domain name, except:
* Applications sent in during the Priority-Registration Period: applicants are required to provide the completed declaration letter with a copy of the corresponding Trademark / Service Mark Certificates.
* Applications for domain name consisting of or containing a reference to words like 'bank', 'insurance' or 'assurance' will require additional documents issued by relevant authorities.
