.FJ Domain General FAQ Fiji FAQ - What is a domain name?
- A Domain Name is your address on the Internet. It is your unique identity on the Internet that corresponds to your numeric address "IP". Or in simple terms, a domain name is the part of your Internet address that comes after "www".
For example, in http://www.abc.com.fj the domain name is abc.com.fj
"abc" is the name of the company ABC (fictious name)
"com" is to represent that ABC is a Commercial Company and
"fj" the top level domain that represents the country name Fiji
Domain names provide a system of easy-to-remember Internet addresses, which can be translated by the Domain Name System (DNS) into the numeric addresses (Internet Protocol (IP) numbers) used by the network. - What is a .fj domain name?
- A .fj domain name is the ccTLD (Country Code Top Level Domain) name given to Fiji just like other countries by IANA. 101Domain is authorized to sell .fj domain names like abc.com.fj.

- The following sub-domains are "open" to everyone for registrations:
* biz.fj
* com.fj
* info.fj

- How do I make changes to my already registered domain?
- The domain name itself cannot be changed. (You have to register the new name you now want, and pay the full registration fee.)
* To change any other information relating to the domain name, login to the domain registration system, and make changes on-line. (Please inform 101Domain.com of any changes)
* A transfer fee is charged if the "owning" organization or individual name is changed. There is no charge if any other information is changed. - What happens to domain names that are not renewed by their expiration date?
- Domain names that are not renewed by their expiry date are suspended for 28 days. Registrants may re-activate such names within this 28-day period by paying the full cost of a new registration.
Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the suspended (expired) names. Cancelled names are available to any party for (new) registration.
