.AO Domain General FAQ Angola FAQ - What are acceptable .AO domain names?
- The Angolan National Commission for Telematics (C.N.T.A. Comisso Nacional de Telemtica de Angola) accepts valid names for sub-domains that observe the followings conditions:
1. The name of the requested domain and the name of the top-level domains ( MIL, EDU, GOV, ORG, NET, COM, INT, ARPA) should not be matched;
2. The name of the requested domain should match one of the following names established by C.N.T.A:
* CO.AO - For commercial institutions, seated in Angola;
* ED.AO - For educational institutions, seated in Angola;
* GV.AO - For governamental institutions, seated in Angola;
* IT.AO - For international institutions, seated outside Angola
* OG.AO - For any other organizations, seated in Angola;
* PB.AO - Sub-Domain for publishing, seated in Angola;
3. The domain name should not be registered if a domain of the same name exists. In the case of a coincidence of the name (i.e. a dispute, etc.), the involved persons and/or institutions should come to a conclusion about the possession of the name eliminating any controversy.
